When the large crowd of the Jews learned that Jesus was there, they came, not only on account of him but also to see Lazarus, whom he had raised from the dead.

John 12:9

Lord, what has my attention this morning? Is it You or what You are doing? Am I drawn by my love and affection for You or is it the miracles that You perform in my life or the lives of others? Is it about seeing You or seeing what You can do in my life or is it spending time with You? Yes, I recognize that You can and do use all that You are doing in the lives of Your people to draw them to Yourself. However, this day my soul is conscious of the fact that many times it is about what You do and not who You are that compels me to rush into Your presence. It is because I need something from You rather than just long to be in with You that I call upon Your Name. Thank You for being faithful and meeting both my felt and actual needs. You still give me “Lazarus sightings” though my desires in the moment are misplaced. Help me to see this when it happens this day that I might recognize it. Lord, though it is what You did that drew me to You, it is knowing You that has kept me truly coming back. I love You so much. Thank You for loving me enough to draw me to You with the breadcrumbs of life that I might be filled at Your feast!
