“Be silent, Israel, and listen! You have now become the people of the LORD your God. Obey the Lord your God and follow his commands and decrees…”

Deuteronomy 27:9-10 (NIV)

I say to the LORD, “You are my Lord; apart from you I have no good thing.”

Psalms 16:2 (NIV)

Father God, I come before You this day, soul quieted, mind focused, and heart open. Tuning out all the distractions of life that rage around me and within me, I lean forward in my worship chair and attentively listen for Your voice with abated breath. Be still my soul! Be quieted within me! Let Your holy silence surround me!

Lord, before I did anything You declared me Yours. Before I even confessed Christ You wrote my name in His book of life. Before I called on Your Name You called out my name. Even as You told Israel “you have now become” and then commanded obedience, You called me out of darkness and cleaned me up first, then commanded. And because You are my God, the truest love of my life, I seek to please You, doing what You have called me to do, serving You in whatever capacity You send me, and being who You have called me to be. You are my Lord, my Master, my King, my God. I sing praises to Your Name!

Apart from You I have no good thing. All that I have and am is made “more better” the more I immerse myself in Your love. And this day, I intend to do just that!

So LORD, show me Your ways. Guide me in the path of life that I am taking this day. Fill me with Your Spirit that I might not swerve and sway as I follow my Savior, but that I might do what is pleasing in Your sight. Open my eyes to the souls around me that You intend for me to pour my life into even as You sent others to pour their lives into me. And put on my tongue the right testimony in the moment, declaring Your goodness and Your grace to all who will listen.

I praise You and worship You this day. Let my praise be contagious to Your glory in Jesus’ Name!
