The inheritance of the people of Simeon formed part of the territory of the people of Judah. Because the portion of the people of Judah was too large for them, the people of Simeon obtained an inheritance in the midst of their inheritance.
Joshua 19:9
LORD, give Your servant a generous heart today that accepts that my portion will not never be just for me, but that I must sacrificially share it with others. Remind me regularly that what You have given me was with a mind on me blessing those who are without, whose portion does not meet their needs. Grant me a willing heart that graciously takes from that which is mine and distributes it to others, my brothers and sisters who have less, in order that they might have more. LORD, it is You that apportions to each of us that which we have. It is not by the luck of the draw or merely by our efforts or lack there of. Instead, You bless what we do with increase or detract from it with lack. My portion is the result of the lot You have given to me, as is the portion of others. Give me a mind that I might be like Your church in Acts, who had everything in common, and saw the need of their brothers and sisters, and gave to their leaders that there might be no lack amongst them. I declare You have blessed me. I want to be the blessing that You have intended me to be in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
