Then the people of Israel cried out to the LORD for help, for he had 900 chariots of iron and he oppressed the people of Israel cruelly for twenty years.

Judges 4:3

LORD, it is not lost on me that it took 20 years before You raised up someone to deliver the children of Israel. Yes, the situation was the result of their sinfulness.  I confess that I, like them, can’t get it right. And I, like them, are crying out to You for deliverance. My prayer today is that You would give me the faithfulness and patience to wait on You. Through Christ You have promised not only to never leave me, but also that You would provide all my needs and deliver me from the hands of my enemies. In Him You have promised guidance and direction, ensuring that I know the way to go. But most of all, because of Him You have guaranteed my rescue in the time of trouble. What You have not promised is when. Therefore, grant me the patience and vision to wait until I see Your hand at work in my mist. Give me the resolve not to believe any bad reports, not to listen to any naysayers, and not to be tempted to turn to doing things on my own. But instead, help me to wait fully and completely on You. I look to You this day for the peace, which passes all understanding. Calm my spirit and focus my eyes on You in Jesus’ Name.
