Behold, to the LORD your God belong heaven and the heaven of heavens, the earth with all that is in it. Yet the LORD set his heart in love on your fathers and chose their offspring after them, you above all peoples, as you are this day.

Deuteronomy 10:14-15

LORD, when I think about the fact that all that is wonderful in this world belongs to You – all the riches and treasures, all the land and property, all the things of beauty and splendor, all the fine and succulent, anything that has value or makes the heart glad, all of it – and I think about the fact that You have chosen ME, set Your love upon ME, have taken pleasure in ME, I cannot help but fall back in amazement, recognizing how utterly unworthy I am. All I have to do is step back and take inventory of my life and my brokenness and immediately I realize how utterly mind blowing that is. Who would do that for the likes of someone like me? I would not. Frankly, I can think of times where I have written people off for lesser offenses. Yet, You have set Your heart in love on me, calling me Your own, and have purposed to bless me despite me! What manner of love is this that You would call me a child of God? And yet, I am! Today I worship You and thank You for loving me in spite of me. Thank You for pouring out Your love upon me, like a master chef seasoning what looks to the unknowing eye to be just a piece of meat, but to the trained eye is Wagyu of the finest choice. You see the value in me that no one else sees, not even me. I am eternally grateful to You this day. Circumcise my heart afresh today that I might find some way to please You, paying back to You all You have done for me through Christ. Thank You LORD. Thank You very much. Amen.
