You cause the grass to grow for the livestock and plants for man to cultivate, that he may bring forth food from the earth and wine to gladden the heart of man, oil to make his face shine and bread to strengthen man’s heart.

Psalms 104:14-15

Father, I give You praise this morning for the little things that often go unnoticed that You do for me. There is so much that I take for granted and automatically assume is going to be there, like air to breathe and water to drink, like the sun rising and the birds chirping, things that are just there. Yes, I am sure to thank You for things like rising up in the morning, food on my table, a job to go to. But I miss those other things like the beauty of the sunrise or the stillness of the night, the wonders of the seasons and the majesty of Your animal kingdom, things that put a smile on my face and bring a peace over me. Things like the enjoyment of some foods and dislike of others, like the gentle smiles we are greeted with from friends, families and strangers, and the activities that, for some strange reason, just make us feel good on the inside. All of this is a glorious show of Your grace in my life!

So today, I give You praise, and I worship You for the intricate grandeur of Your works, the attention to detail that You have manifested by the works of Your hands. I stand amazed as I take in the wonders of Your creation and embrace how You have ensured the results that You have purposed. I am overwhelmed that bound up in Your plans for me are not just future Kingdom plans, but also right now life-joy plans, plans to give me little glimmers of what it means to be with You forever, small tastes of the happiness that will be mine for eternity. In those fleeting moments, You fill my heart with the hope for what is to come. Thank You for Christ, in Whom my hope is secure! I bless Your Name and praise You this day! Amen, and AMEN!
