Now when Jesus returned, a crowd welcomed him, for they were all expecting him.
Luke 8:40 (NIV)
Good morning, Jesus. I welcome You into my heart space this morning. I thank You today that You “return” faithfully and meet me where I am at. Though at times it feels like You are on the other side of the sea healing the afflictions of others, I have the confidence that You always “return” to where I am and meet me there. I thank You that though You may seem to be pressing through the crowded clutter of my life that You are always near, and all I have to do is reach out and touch the hem of Your garment, make an effort to press in to embrace You, and the healing that I am looking for, the wholeness that I need, the fellowshipping and recognition that I long for will be mine. Yes, You may be pressing through to tend to the “Jairus’ daughters” elsewhere, but praise and glory to Your Name, You always have time for me, notice my little faith steps, provide me with what I stand in the need of. Hallelujah!
Today, Lord, my soul waits in expectation for You. My heart welcomes You to come in, even as You stand at the door and knock. You are the God Who enter history at the burning bush, Who made His presence known to the Hebrew forefathers, and has promised to come again. Come into every aspect of my living, and influence it all that it might be a reflection of You, Your priorities, and Your will. Shape my finances, my spending, and my giving so that how I handle my resources might demonstrate my faith in You and my commitment to You. Take me in and out of other’s lives that I might be used as a conduit of Your blessings, a tangible touch of Your hand. Send me where You would have me to go, like You sent the Twelve, that I might live out the purpose for which You have created and formed me, being the individual that You have intended me to be, full of Your Spirit and impacting the world for Your glory.
Lord, as I read Your Word, so much happened in that span. As You pressed through the crowd, a woman touched Your garment and by faith was healed; Jairus’ daughter died, and You resurrected her; You sent Your disciples out to preach the good news and they healed many. And it all happened because You returned! Thank You for never leaving us alone but always meeting us where we are, always “returning!” And it is that, Lord, that I long for, both spiritually and one day physically. Thank You for always meeting me where I am at! Amen!
