When he came to Lehi, the Philistines came shouting to meet him. Then the Spirit of the LORD rushed upon him, and the ropes that were on his arms became as flax that has caught fire, and his bonds melted off his hands. And he found a fresh jawbone of a donkey, and put out his hand and took it, and with it he struck 1,000 men. And Samson said, “With the jawbone of a donkey, heaps upon heaps, with the jawbone of a donkey have I struck down a thousand men.” As soon as he had finished speaking, he threw away the jawbone out of his hand. And that place was called Ramath-lehi.

Judges 15:14-17

LORD, Your Word declares that “we wrestle not against flesh and blood.” The warfare is real. Though I don’t often see the true enemy, the war he wages is covert, hidden behind his manipulation of the circumstances and the undiscerning thoughts of me and those around me. Today, I look to You to remove the bonds and shackles of my flesh and release me to do battle against the spiritual darkness that surrounds me. I pray in the Name of Jesus that You would continue to bring to my remembrance Your Word, which is the sword of the Spirit, Your truth undergirding me, with my righteousness, purchased by His blood, protecting my heart. As I stand on the good news of His salvation and the victory it has purchased for me, enable me to deflect all the attacks that come my way by faith, my salvation firmly established in my heart and mind. Remind me that I do not need the weapons of this world. I do not require the cunning speeches and clever sayings, nor the power of worldly persuasion. Continue to bring to my remembrance that none of these things gave me victories in the past. Instead, it was because Your Spirit was poured out on me. It wasn’t the weapon I wielded. It was the God I serve. I yield to You today. Be victorious in my life in Jesus’ Name!
