I rejoice at your word like one who finds great spoil.
Psalms 119:162 (ESV)
Lord Jesus, today my soul has found such comfort and amazement by Your Word! As I have read through its pages seeing the revelation of Your righteous acts towards mankind, my soul has been lightened, my heart encouraged, and my eyes focused. In it I see You throughout, sprinkled glitters of Your glory, both in the Old Testament and fully manifested in the New.
As my mind connects the dots scattered throughout the Sacred Text, I see You revealed, from the gracious withholding of full wrath and judgement upon Adam and Eve, to the promise made to David regarding someone from his line to sit eternally on the throne. As was shared with me recently, while Abraham marched up one side of the mountain to sacrifice his son, You were sending up on the other side the sacrifice that we stand in his stead! This too was but a foreshadowing of what You would do for us!
You are in every word written, every thought cast, every promise made, every prophesy fulfilled! As was promised in Jeremiah that You would relent from Your anger and we would dwell with Your forever, visions of You were being projected to Your people. You are the Righteous Servant shared in the prophesies. You bring the peace promised. You are the balm that soothes our soul.
My King and Lover of my soul, I worship You! Thank You for giving me Your Word, revealing to me its gem-filled, hidden secrets, opening my eyes and showing me You across every page. It is a treasure trove to me solely because YOU are my great reward! And this not because I have done anything to earn or deserve it but because You have graciously given it and Your life to me for me! I declare with David, “Who am I, O Lord GOD, and what is my house, that you have brought me thus far?” (2 Samuel 7:18) All I can say is THANK YOU!
