Grace be with all of you.
Hebrews 13:25 (ESV)
Father God, these five words sum up completely what I desperately need today and everyday of my life. James sums up where my head and heart are when he declared, “But he gives more grace. Therefore it says, ‘God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.’” (James 4:6) My flesh often resists declaring my desperate need for Your grace, my pride getting in the way of my spiritual famine. Yet, I know and see that void in my life without it. And every morning when I rise I need a replenishment of it. Not just once but throughout the whole day! I would be foolish not to acknowledge my deficit and fail to come rushing to the foot of Your cross asking for a fresh infusion.
So today, I pray that Your grace would be with me. As I stumble through this day, help me to walk in Your grace. As I navigate through the decisions of the day, help me to do so in Your grace. As I deal with Your creation, help me to be a vessel of Your grace. For in You, I am the recipient of grace upon grace (John 1:16). I know I don’t deserve it. But, oh Lord, how I need it!
Thank You for being the God of all grace, Who has called me into oneness with my Savior. Restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish me in Him, that I might be the light You have created me to be to Your glory. Amen.
