So I always take pains to have a clear conscience toward both God and man.

Father, it is my prayer that You would enable me to be true to my conscience and not violate what I know and have been convicted of concerning Your Word and Your righteous requirements of me. I live in a world of compromise, where everyone attempts to live in “peace” with one another. This peace is truly no peace at all, because permission is given to call that which You declare evil good and that which You have declare good evil. Whether it is regarding personal, social, or spiritual matters, I find that there is a “middle ground” that many will attempt to stand on in order to not live at odds with others, accepting everyone’s opinion on everything as acceptable. There is a permissive spirit that prevails in this world that seeks to allow all to do what feels right all for the purpose of us getting along.
Yet, I stand today and declare, “Let God be true and everyone else be a liar!” I hold fast to what You have revealed to be Your absolute truth as communicated to me in Your Word. I hold fast to the principles and precepts that You have established, believing by faith that those who follow after them will not only please You, but in the end have peace with one another. I hold fast to the sufficiency of Scriptures, believing that in them I have everything I need for a life of faith and godliness. Master, my sole aim in life is pleasing You.
I pray for spiritual courage and tenacity regarding the things of You. Help me to overcome this draw to take shortcuts for the purpose of trying to please man while also trying to please You. Help me to discern right from wrong, good from evil, justice from injustice, and righteousness from wickedness. Whether in word or deed, enable me to live my life even as my Savior lived His, being led by Your precious Holy Spirit, and compelled to hold fast to what I know of Your will no matter the cost. I desire to have a clear conscience before both man and You. Though I know there is a cost in doing so, I am willing to pay the price. Strengthen my resolve to do just that so that all will see and know that I serve You, the righteous Creator, Ruler and Judge of this world, to the glory of Jesus Christ my Savior. Amen
