Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me.
John 14:1
LORD Jesus, my soul finds peace this morning knowing that You are in control. The world outside of me is raging, the adversity that confronts me is real. Due to the stressors of life I am prone to worry about tomorrow and what other challenges will come my way. Yet, this morning I hear Your still, soft voice telling me, “Let not your heart be troubled.” Though I can see the oncoming trials and tribulations, You calmly beckon me to peace with those words, “Let not your heart be troubled.” My trust and ability to believe in the Father is because I believe in You. In You and by You I have seen the work of the Spirit in my life in such a way that I know for certain that there is no reason that my heat should be troubled. You are faithful, Lord, and gracious in all that You do. This day I ask that You would help me to steal away and find find my rest in You. Cover me with Your Spirit and fill me to overflowing that I might find what my soul longs for, proclaiming not only to myself but the world, “Let not your heart be troubled.” I not only believe in You and Your ability to do this, in You alone do I trust. Have Your way my King. Amen.
