So receive him in the Lord with all joy, and honor such men, for he nearly died for the work of Christ, risking his life to complete what was lacking in your service to me.
Philippians 2:29-30
Father God, I thank You for the men and women You have raised up in my life who love me enough to sacrifice themselves in service to me, honoring You and blessing me with their time, talent and treasures. Often their contribution to my life is overlooked, taken for granted, almost treating them like their agape love is something owed to me. Yet, today it is not lost on me that You have raised them up at this time to fill a gap in my life, and to use them to remind me that You have not forgotten me.
So, in turn I pray for these, Your vessels of blessings, that You would give to them one hundredfold of the blessings they have been to me. Where they have experienced lack, cause it to overflow in abundance. Where they have walked in discouragement, give them a divine sense of accomplishment. Where they have felt abandoned, give them Your incomprehensible peace. Raise up around them individuals who themselves are sons and daughters of encouragement that they might experience the power of Your presence in their lives, and that they might experience a foretaste of the joy they have given me and others.
I thank You for them today. I thank You for how their light has shined my way, pointing me towards the Light of Christ, inspiring me to press on and myself, seek to be a blessing. I pray that You would use me in someone’s life even as You have used them in mine, that Your Name might be glorified, Your Son lifted up, and Your Spirit submitted to both now and forever. Amen.
