Sow for yourselves righteousness; reap steadfast love; break up your fallow ground, for it is the time to seek the LORD, that he may come and rain righteousness upon you.
Hosea 10:12 (ESV)
Father, as I have been reading the prophets I am so overwhelmed by the dark cloud of gloom that I am reading! We are bad! Honestly, I, like so many others, never thought of myself as that bad. But we are. I am. What would I be without Jesus?
Father, I cannot sow righteousness without Him. I cannot break up the fallow ground of my heart without His help. No matter how hard I try – and sometimes I try really hard – I always find a way to mess things up, stumble and trip over myself, and show how bad I am. I don’t like to think like that. It doesn’t make me feel good about myself. But it’s the sobering truth.
Therefore, I today and everyday I seek my Savior’s face that I might be found in Him, filled with a righteousness not my own. I seek Him that I might be in the fellowship of my God eternally – Father, Son and Holy Spirit. I seek Him that my sins might be washed away and that times of refreshing might come. I seek Him because You, oh LORD, are all I have!
Thank You, Father, for ushering Jesus into my life. Thank You, Lord Jesus, for Your obedience to the Father and coming into my life. Thank You, Holy Spirit, for sealing the deal and coming into my heart. LORD God, send Your rain of refreshment on my soul today! Amen!
