And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also. And you know the way to where I am going.”

Lord Jesus, my heart clings to the promise of Your return to receive me unto Yourself. There is an ache that resides deep within my being, longing to be soothed. What this world has to offer cannot satisfy this longing as daily it becomes the focus of my attention. As I am bombarded by the blows of life, it is only when I escape to my quiet place with You that find peace. But even then, it feels only temporary, partial, my soul longing for something more permanent. I know that You have prepared a place for me, both on this side of eternity and the other side. I know that You do and will meet me there. This morning I rush to that temporary place, seeking Your solace and sweet serenity with an eye on the future hope of the other side, knowing that where You are I will be also forever. Provide me the comfort that I long for today. As I consume Your Word, let it give me the nourishment that I need, connecting the dots of this broken world that I live in, making sense of the senseless, enabling me to see Your hand at work in my midst. Master, it is my prayer that You would help me to tend to that secret place, removing the rocks and weed that have grown in the garden of my heart, and cause it flourish with life. Let me find rest there in Your presence, restoring my strength in order that I might be able to press on and continue the journey that I am on with You. I pray this in Your Name. Amen.
