1 Timothy 6:18 (ESV)
Lord, I know this verse is directed to those who have earthly wealth. Yet, this morning my heart is drawn to reality that I, though not rich by this world’s standards, am rich by Yours. I have in You that which money cannot buy. As You declare, I am rich in faith and an heir to Your glorious Kingdom (James 2:5)! Hallelujah!
My soul is conscious to the fact that to whom much is given, much is required (Luke 12:48). And though I may not be able to give this world’s riches to others, I can give them a sample, a foretaste even, of my faith.
Help me Lord Jesus to be quick to listen, slow to speak, and even slower, turtle-like, to anger (James 1:19). Help me to be ready to let others know Who You are and why I love You so much (1 Peter 3:15). Give me the words to say in the moment, that I might speak words of grace, seasoned just right for my hearers (Colossians 4:6). I want to demonstrate Your love in a tangible way. As You bring people across my path, don’t allow me to be caught up in who they are, what they believe or don’t believe, or even how they respond to me. Instead, speak in me and through me, that they might see YOU in me, my hope of glory (Colossians 1:27)! Use me Lord. Amen.
