“So you, by the help of your God, return, hold fast to love and justice, and wait continually for your God.”

Hosea 12:6

Lord, in a world where those who “cut corners” and look out for themselves seem to always have the upper hand, it is easy to become discouraged. When the good that one does to be a blessing to others is viewed as being gullible, and folks turn around and take advantage of you, one quickly comes to the conclusion that they are not worth it. I cannot count how many times I have asked myself why I keep putting up with the brokenness of others, putting myself out to help, only to have them slap me in the face. Yet, today I am reminded that it is only because You first helped me that I am able to help others. When I walked astray You pulled me back, calling me to return to You for You are my help. Therefore, today I commit to holding fast to the love that You have shown me, as well as the mercy that I have been a recipient of, giving to others in proportion to what I myself have experienced. Where I feel disrespected and betrayed, I will remember my Savior Who experienced worse on my behalf. Bring my way all whom You will that I might demonstrate Your love and acceptance in a tangible way. I commit to You that I will go the extra mile for them. When I fall short, convict me. I want to let them know how much You love them. Use me Lord to Your glory in Jesus’ Name.
