Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion! Shout aloud, O daughter of Jerusalem! Behold, your king is coming to you; righteous and having salvation is he, humble and mounted on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey. I will cut off the chariot from Ephraim and the war horse from Jerusalem; and the battle bow shall be cut off, and he shall speak peace to the nations; his rule shall be from sea to sea, and from the River to the ends of the earth.
Zechariah 9:9-10
Lord Jesus, my soul finds peace this morning in knowing that not only did You come to fulfill the words declared in these verses, You are coming again to bring everything into completion. The trials, tribulations, hardships and struggles that I am currently engaged in will not only pass away, but they shall be nothing more than a distant memory as I rest in the completion of Your glorious work here on earth. It is that reality that I hold on to when I am going through, knowing not only that You can fix it, but ultimately embracing that You will eternally remedy it so that I never have to go through it again.
Help me today to walk in the victory that is mine in You. As I embrace the “already but not yet” aspect of this life, I pray that You would continue to remind me of Your awesome power and wonderful plan for me. As the enemy rises up and attacks me on every side, help me to embrace the reality that You have already secured the win, that the battles that I am engaged in are known beforehand by You, and that You have already determined the outcome. Speak peace to my heart today, pointing my eyes toward You and Your finished work. Reign on, my King. My heart indeed longs for You. Amen.
