And the effect of righteousness will be peace, and the result of righteousness, quietness and trust forever.

LORD, this morning my soul finds its rest in the peace that You have granted me through Jesus Christ. Because He has washed away my sins, removing that which separated me from You, my soul is not troubled by my brokenness, but instead knows that You are at work in me and through me to perfect me for that day when I will see my Savior face-to-face. I thank You for the quietness of spirit that I walk in today, knowing my eternal future is set and sealed in Christ, not defined by a works righteousness, but instead secured by His blood. Because of His faithfulness in both life and death, the anxiety of my soul is quieted, the constant push to demonstrate that I am worthy is quelled. Instead, I walk in peace, knowing that Your love for me shall never fail. For this I praise and worship You, thanking You for this great and marvelous salvation that is mine through Christ Jesus! Thank You, LORD for this peace, which is beyond my understanding. Thank You for giving me a new life with new perspectives and new insights, for showing me the potential, not just in me, but in others. I will forever put my trust in You. Help me to be Your messenger of peace to a world that is in discord, so that the Prince of Peace might reign not only in my heart, but in the hearts of this world. I pray this in His Name.
