Hear my prayer, O LORD, and give ear to my cry; hold not your peace at my tears! For I am a sojourner with you, a guest, like all my fathers.
Psalm 39:12
Lord Jesus, I pray that You would continue to remind me that this is not my home. Bring to my attention instances where I am getting too comfortable with the things of this world and not in hotly pursuit of the things of You. When I find myself longing for what this place has to offer, please bring to my remembrance that I am a sojourner here, traveling through this life hand-in-hand with my Savior. When I find myself hurt, eyes weeping and wishing for more, pour out Your love upon my heart, giving me the sweet assurance that the sacrifice is so very worth it! Lord, You are my peace. When I focus my attention on You and not the things of this world I find serenity for my soul. When I forget about this world and look to You my soul is put at ease, my worries, cares and burdens lightened. In Your presence, indeed, is the better portion! Pull me nearer when I feel most alone and speak to my heart when I am most confused. You are the strength of my life, my purpose for living. Move on me and in me this day that I might stay the course that You have laid out for me to Your glory. I pray this in Your Name.
