But you, O Bethlehem Ephrathah, who are too little to be among the clans of Judah, from you shall come forth for me one who is to be ruler in Israel, whose coming forth is from of old, from ancient days. Therefore he shall give them up until the time when she who is in labor has given birth; then the rest of his brothers shall return to the people of Israel. And he shall stand and shepherd his flock in the strength of the LORD, in the majesty of the name of the LORD his God. And they shall dwell secure, for now he shall be great to the ends of the earth. And he shall be their peace.

Micah 5:2-5a

Abba Father, today as I feel small and insignificant, a misfit in a world where everyone and everything appears to be greater than I, during this season I find great comfort in knowing that even as You chose the little, misfit town of Bethlehem to be the birthplace of my Savior, that You can take an insignificant one like me, and shine the spotlight on me. It is not that I am looking for fame or fortune, nor am I seeking notoriety or acclaim, I just want to make a difference. I want my life to matter. And in Your sovereignty I know that You can make this happen in my life. My only call is to manifest my Savior in every aspect of my living.

Today, as I purpose to keep Christ first and continually yield to the leanings of the Holy Spirit, I ask that You would grant me the peace that can only come from walking hand-in-hand with Him. I pray for wisdom and discernment, that the fruit of the Spirit might be manifested in all of my dealings. Enhance my quiet times with You, granting me that glorious peace that can only come from being in Your presence. And as I walk throughout this day, remind me that Your peace, which passes all understanding, is there to keep my heart and mind through Christ Jesus, for Whom I live, move and have my being. And I shall give You all the praise. In Jesus’ Name I pray. Amen.
