I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, that you should not be their slaves. And I have broken the bars of your yoke and made you walk erect.

Leviticus 26:13

Father, what does freedom truly look like? As I reflect upon the history of this nation, I am reminded of the stain that was left upon people of color who were subjected to cruel bondage yet were able to walk with a sense of freedom not realized in their physical bodies. Your words, “And I have broken the bars of your yoke and made you walk erect,” resonate within my soul. The idea that a people are able to stand erect, not beaten down, that is what freedom looks like. Being able to stand tall. It is not necessarily a physical condition, though in this verse You are referencing one. It is a spiritual condition, where I am not bound. I am no longer a slave to sin. I can continue to grow in the grace of my Savior. I am free.

Thank You, Father for sending Your Son to set me free. Thank You for the sacrifice He paid on my behalf, removing the shackles of sin, straightening my back, and delivering me from the pangs of my broken condition. Indeed, I stand before You because You cause me to stand; You have given me everything I need. You have set me free!

Thank You for reminding me of that precious price that was paid for me and for pulling on my heart this day. As I immerse myself into that precious fountain that cleanses me, help me to walk in a manner that reflects that I am indeed free, no longer bound. Lord, today I intentionally purpose for my actions to reflect that I am a new creation, that Your love has been shed abroad in my heart, and that there is nothing that shall be able to separate me from You! Enable me to stand today and be accounted for in Your Kingdom for Your Kingdom purposes in Jesus’ Name! Amen!
