“What should we do then?” the crowd asked.

Luke 3:10

Lord Jesus, how many times have I asked that question after You have sent conviction my way? How many times have I wondered what are You calling me to do in the moment? Even as the crowd asked John what should they do, I have often wondered what You are calling me to at this particular time. Those words resonate with me this morning, “A voice of one calling in the wilderness, ‘Prepare the way for the Lord, make straight paths for him…”(Luke 3:4, Isaiah 40:3). These are words pointing towards John but also calling out to me. It is the calling of all who call You “Lord” to lay the groundwork for others to believe. It is not only my duty, but my responsibility to prepare the way for You to come into the lives of others. You have called me to be a witness, having tangibly changed my life. I am not the same because of what You have done. And what You have done for me, You have promised to do for others!

So today, grant me the opportunity to tell someone about Who You are and what You have done for me. I pray that You alert me to those who need to hear a word from You, who need to have You touch them in a personal way, who need to know that You still change lives. Use me to impact someone’s life, encouraging them to take that leap of faith into Your loving arms that they might find what I have found in You – love unimaginable! I am Yours to use as You see fit. Open my eyes to all the opportunities You place before me today and grant me not only the courage, but the boldness to seize them so I can tell anyone who will listen about how good You are! I pray this in Your Name and to Your glory! Amen!
