And the LORD came and stood, calling as at other times, “Samuel! Samuel!” And Samuel said, “Speak, for your servant hears.”
1 Samuel 3:10
LORD, I fall before You this morning and my soul cries out, “Speak, for Your servant hears.” As I ferret through the the confusion and busyness of the day, my soul pauses, recognizing that lost in the noise is Your soft, gentle voice nudging me to stop what I am doing and to train my attention on You. Though the hecticness of life continues to bombard me with the urgency of “now”, my soul waits patiently for You to call out from Heaven and speak to me, causing the storms to cease and the waves to calm. LORD, serving You is my life’s purpose. In You alone do I stand complete. All that I do or seek to do finds its meaning in You. Therefore, You have my attention today. It is my heart’s deepest desire to hear a word from You. Speak, LORD, for Your servant hears. Amen.
