On that day I will fulfill against Eli all that I have spoken concerning his house, from beginning to end. And I declare to him that I am about to punish his house forever, for the iniquity that he knew, because his sons were blaspheming God, and he did not restrain them. Therefore I swear to the house of Eli that the iniquity of Eli’s house shall not be atoned for by sacrifice or offering forever.”
Samuel lay until morning; then he opened the doors of the house of the LORD. And Samuel was afraid to tell the vision to Eli.
1 Samuel 3:12-15
Lord, give me the spiritual courage to share not only the good, but also the challenging messages with those You want to use me to touch. Help me to get over my fears – whether it is a fear of rejection, of hurting someone’s feeling, or just the discomfort of being the messenger – so that I can be faithful to You in the moment. I realize that through these difficult engagements You are transforming me and others. Like a Master Refiner, You are taking us through the furnace of life, drawing out our sinfulness, that we all might come forth as pure gold before You. Help me to overcome “me” and my hesitancy to have those tough conversations and push me to just be obedient in the moment. Give me the faith to believe that going through this momentary discomfort and pain will result in Your eternal glory. Calm my spirit and direct my eyes on the prize that You might get all the praise from the results in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
