And Samuel grew, and the LORD was with him and let none of his words fall to the ground. And all Israel from Dan to Beersheba knew that Samuel was established as a prophet of the LORD. And the LORD appeared again at Shiloh, for the LORD revealed himself to Samuel at Shiloh by the word of the LORD.

Lord, establish Your servant today. I acknowledge the calling You place on my life, as You place callings on all of our lives, and I submit to Your will and Your way. Use me as You see fit. Remind me that You have called all of us to love. I confess it is so easy to get caught up in the concept of “doing ministry” that I can miss that the call is to love. Therein true ministry is done! As Christ has loved me so help me to love others. When they strike me, help me to actually turn the other cheek. When they mistreat me, actually help me to forgive them and treat them as if they have not done it at all. Even as Christ loved to the end, help me to do the same. When others see me, let them not see me but instead see Christ Jesus crucified within me. My life is not my own. I have been bought with a price. I have no rights. I am Your servant. Through my submission not just to You but to others, let everyone know that I am Yours. Through my life, be revealed to those who are searching for answers to life’s questions. Use me to point them to Jesus. Amen.
