I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth.
Psalms 34:1 (KJV)
LORD, a song has been ringing in my soul this morning. When I got up I could not shake it, though honestly I did not try.The lyrics speak so deeply to where my heart is in this moment:
“I will bless You, oh Lord,
with all that’s in me.
I’ll sing Your praises continually.
From the rising of the sun,
to the setting of the same,
I will forever bless Your Name.
I will bless You, oh Lord,
oh, oh, oh.”
Bless You, oh Lord,
oh, oh, oh.”
I will bless You, oh Lord,
oh, oh, oh.”
Bless You, oh Lord.”
My God, that’s where my heart is! I fall at Your feet praising You for Your goodness and mercy, thanking You for Your never-ending love and irresistible grace! When I think about who I am, flaws and all, and am reminded that You love me in spite of it, that You sent Your Son to die for me so that You could spend an eternity with me in relationship, I cannot help but wonder what kind of God would do such a thing! Only You! That You would forgive what, in my eyes, is unforgivable, and would redeem what others would have thrown to the side, leaves me in utter amazement! I don’t deserve what You have done for me. And to think, You didn’t do it because I deserved it but because You love me! I bless Your Holy Name!
So this morning I lift my hands up, with my heart filled with praise, glorifying and blessing Your Holy Name! You are my Master, my Savior, my Teacher, my Healer, my Ruler, my Redeemer, my Awesome Provider, my Great Shepherd, my Lord, and my King! You are the Satisfaction of my soul, the Peace that stills me, my Light in darkness, my Bridge over troubled waters! You are my Friend, the Lover of my soul, and my God! Thank You for seeing me, not for who I was or am in my brokenness, but for who I am and will be in Christ Jesus! I will bless You, oh Lord, with all that’s in me! Amen!
