Samuel was ministering before the LORD, a boy clothed with a linen ephod. And his mother used to make for him a little robe and take it to him each year when she went up with her husband to offer the yearly sacrifice. Then Eli would bless Elkanah and his wife, and say, “May the LORD give you children by this woman for the petition she asked of the LORD.” So then they would return to their home.

1 Samuel 2:18-20

Lord, I thank You today for those who pour their lives into me, blessing me with not only their presence, but also their gifts of love. Because of them I am able to do and be what You have called me to be. Their sacrifice of love enables me to focus on what You have for me to do in the moment, not concerned about how it will be accomplished or of what effect it will have, because it is You that supplies all of our needs through others. This day I ask that You would bless them even as they have blessed me. Give them what their heart desires. Show them that giving to others in service to You yields bountiful blessings, and remind them that You indeed see all. I pray that where there is lack in their lives that You would make up the difference. Where there is loss that You would fill the gap. Where there is weakness You would give them strength. And where there is doubt You would grant them assurance. Be all they need today, causing their cup to overflow. But more than anything, fill them with Your precious Holy Spirit that they might be full in Your presence, knowing who they are and Whose they are. Thank You for sending them into my life. Bless them, Lord, that they might know that loving others is never in vain. In Jesus’ Name I pray. Amen.
