Isaiah 50:4 (NLT)
LORD, give me the words to speak today that I might speak Your truth to all who might hear, be a source of hope to those who are in despair, and a beacon of light to those who are in darkness. Give me a patient and discerning spirit that I might not be caught up in my feelings and emotions but instead be empathetic to the plight of my listeners and say something that will show them that Christ can satisfy all that their heart’s desires and longings.
I know that words have the power to tear down and build up; I choose to build. I know that what I say can positively and negatively impact others; I choose positive. This morning it my prayer that You might use me to be a vessel of audible blessings to others, that my words might build them up, provide comfort, and promote peace. Use me as Your mouthpiece today, spreading love and joy to my listeners, being a bastion of truth and a glimmer of hope. If there is something You purpose for me to say that will be hard on the ears of my listener, give me not only the courage to say it, but also the words to say that they might be received in the spirit of true brotherly love. I am Your vessel, LORD. Speak to me and through me, that others might see You in me and glorify You. In Jesus’ Name I pray. Amen.
