There is no one holy like the LORD. There is no one besides you! And there is no rock like our God. Do not boast so proudly, or let arrogant words come out of your mouth, for the LORD is a God of knowledge, and actions are weighed by him.
1 Samuel 2:2-3
LORD, who is like You? Who upholds me on every leaning side, and provides for me the calm comfort of knowing that I am never alone? Who provides me a firm foundation regardless of where my feet trod, and grants me supreme peace when I have wandered into a weary land? Who gives me what I stand in the need of, seeing my shortage and making up my deficit with abundance, doing exceedingly and abundantly more than I can ever think or ask, granting me fullness in the midst of a land of lack? Who surrounds me with people – co-laborers and fellow travelers – joined in the spirit by the Spirit, encouraging and lifting me up as I lift them up, edifying and building each other up, in our inner most faith, together in fellowship? LORD, who is like You? Indeed, my soul exclaims, “There is no one like You!” This day, I do not boast in what I have accomplished, nor do I expound upon what I believe I have done. Today, I focus my attention on You, for You are indeed great and greatly to be praised! Oh LORD, God of knowledge, give me eyes today to see what You are accomplishing, and the wisdom to understand that all that I do is weighed against a backdrop of Your great works that I might, when I taste a semblance of success, fall down in worship before, You realizing that it has been and always will be by the works of Your hands! I will today open my mouth to let the world know that there is no one besides You! Thank You for this great salvation that is mine in Christ Jesus! Amen!
