According to all that the LORD had commanded Moses, so the people of Israel had done all the work. And Moses saw all the work, and behold, they had done it; as the LORD had commanded, so had they done it. Then Moses blessed them.
Exodus 39:42-43
Father, what a sense of accomplishment and fulfillment when I know that I have done what You have commanded me to do! No greater feeling of satisfaction is there on this side of eternity than for me to know that I have carried out Your will, doing what You have laid out for me in the moment or situation, regardless of how it turns out. To know that I have been obedient, and not because I am trying to earn Your favor or even please You but because I know and love You, it does something for my soul, giving me this special peace within my inner being. It so blesses me!
That is my ultimate desire today: to please You through my obedience. I want to make You happy. I want my life to bring a smile across Your face. Yes, Lord, I want to make You smile! Open my eyes to opportunities to do just that. Show me instances where I can love and serve others, sacrifice and pour my life out, give and bless. Bring across my path individuals to whom I can demonstrate Your love in a tangible way. Help me to love because You love. Regarding my own behavior, continue Your glorious work within my heart, showing me the sin habits I need to shake, the selfishness I need to shed, and the callousness I need to soften. It is my desire today to be the person You are shaping me into being in Christ Jesus that the world might see Him in me!
Thank You for Your demonstration of love towards me by giving me Your Son and filling me with Your Spirit! That divine “one-two punch” has not only saved and set me apart, it has signed, sealed and delivered me for eternal service to You. You have called me to a higher calling. Enable me to live up to Your standards today because I want to make You proud! Thank You!
