Then Israel said to Joseph, “Behold, I am about to die, but God will be with you and will bring you again to the land of your fathers.

Genesis 48:21

Lord, I thank You this morning for all the people and provisions that You have put into place to help me navigate through the challenges of life. There have been so many folks who have sowed seeds into my life, that have helped me be the person I am today, whose personal sacrifices have been made to my benefit. I am grateful for them. Yet, it is not lost on me that their help and support is but temporary, that there is always a point where they will not or cannot be there to bring me through. I also realize that I have the tendency to see them as the ultimate source of what I stand in the need of, relegating status to those whom I can see. And when they cannot a cloud of despair overcomes me, with worry and concern soon following. Yet today I thank You for reminding me that when those who have supported me are gone or no longer able to support me that You will supply me with what I need. This reality increases the joy and love I have for those who were used by You, seeing them as tangible reminders not just of their love for me but also Yours! Continue to remind me that they were never truly the source of those blessings, but were themselves actually the blessing, vehicles used by You to demonstrate Your love in a tangible way in my life. They are Your fingerprints all over me, their love merging with Your love, overflowing in my life and spilling out into the lives of others. How awesome You are to use broken vessels to demonstrate the perfect love of Christ in my life! Thank You for them and Your tender care for me. Help me today to not only walk in this knowledge but also reflect it to Your glory in Jesus’ Name!
