I will visit you after passing through Macedonia, for I intend to pass through Macedonia, and perhaps I will stay with you or even spend the winter, so that you may help me on my journey, wherever I go.
1 Corinthians 16:5-6
Father God, show me where others can help me, and grant me a spirit that is willing to accept the assistance that they offer. I live in a world where I am encouraged to get things done on my own. My world seems to rest on the notion that everyone can all “pull ourselves up by their bootstraps.” The idea that if I put in the work I can rise above my current state and become “more” permeates all of society. Yet, I have come to realize that I cannot do it alone. I do not have it in me to overcome the seen and unseen obstacles before me. Only You know what is ahead. And only You can give me what I need to get through. I pray that You would give me not only the heart but the willingness to reach out to others and ask for their assistance. And more so, grant me the humility to accept it when it is offered. I pray that You would continue to remind me that I am not in this alone, that You have placed people in my life and path to help me on my journey. And continue to reinforce it in me that You have done the same with me, placing me in the paths of others that I might be able to assist them. Remind me that nothing that I have is mine alone, but instead is a resource to be used by You in the advancement of Your Kingdom. Show me who, what, where, how You want to use me and others, and I will obediently serve them and allow them to serve me that You might be glorified in Jesus’ Name.
