His father and mother did not know that it was from the LORD, for he was seeking an opportunity against the Philistines. At that time the Philistines ruled over Israel.
Judges 14:4
Father God, I thank You this morning for the reminder that You have a divine purpose even for my bad choices. I am amazed by Your sovereign ability to take the decisions that I and those around me make and cause them to perfectly align to accomplish Your hidden purposes in all our lives. Though I might be consumed in the moment by the way I want to go and shirk the advice of those You have stood up in my life to provide sound council, You omnisciently know not only the direction I am going, but also the reasoning and rationale that I have developed in my mind to go in that direction. What’s more, You omnipotently control the decisions and circumstances regarding the path I take, in Your sovereignty doing what You want to, when You want to and how You want to, accomplishing Your will and causing all things to work together for my good. Yet, You do so without violating Your divine decree that brought me into being as a creature who can freely choose and walk in the direction that is of my own making. How is this so? How can it be? How can I freely choose and yet You be in complete control? I confess that it is indeed too wonderful for me; it is high; I cannot attain it! You are so “Other”, Holy in all Your ways! Today I look upon You in awe, amazed at Your handiwork. I worship You because You are altogether mysterious and glorious! Because of this, my soul find hope in all situations. Because You love me I can move forward by faith, trusting in You, confident in my decisions, and knowing this: that You, Who have begun this work in me, will bring it to completion in Christ Jesus. Thank You, Master, for embracing me, guiding me, and keeping me. In Jesus’ Name I pray. Amen. Amen. Amen.
