O God, do not keep silence; do not hold your peace or be still, O God!

Psalm 83:1

Lord, as I am confronted with the challenges and opportunities of this day, I ask that You would speak to me, opening my eyes and compelling my heart to go in the direction that You have willed for me to walk. I confess that Your Word is indeed true when it declares that there is a way that seems right to a man but the end is destruction. I have found that when I do things “my way” I typically will mess them up. This is true whether I am navigating out of a difficult situation or preparing to be a blessing. I have found that I fall dreadfully short of my aspirations. Yet, when I consult with You, following after Your guidance and direction, trusting and depending upon Your ways, things turn out better than alright. And in the midst of it I have peace. So I look to You today, with my ears attentively awaiting Your soft voice as You speak to my inner most being. Where You lead I will follow. What You direct I shall do. The chief aim of my soul is to please You in all my ways this day and every day. So please speak, Lord, for Your servant is listening.
