Then Samson went down with his father and mother to Timnah, and they came to the vineyards of Timnah. And behold, a young lion came toward him roaring. Then the Spirit of the LORD rushed upon him, and although he had nothing in his hand, he tore the lion in pieces as one tears a young goat. But he did not tell his father or his mother what he had done. Then he went down and talked with the woman, and she was right in Samson’s eyes.
Judges 14:5-7
Father God, thank You for using me to impact the lives of those around me. My soul finds great joy in those moments when, led by Your Spirit, I am used to assist someone around me to have a breakthrough. I cannot think of any greater satisfaction that I experience than knowing that I am being used by You to overcome what the enemy and this world brings my way or others’ way. I thank You for the victories that I have been able to take part in through Christ Jesus! This morning my soul also knows that followed by every victory the enemy sends a temptation aimed at subtly creeping into my world and shifting my focus from what You are doing in and through my life to what I can do to please myself. It’s power over me is exacerbated by my habit of keeping secret what You are doing in and through me, neither acknowledging it to others or to myself. It is my prayer today that You would continue to remind me of the call to proclaim Your goodness in all areas of my life. Help me to quit deceiving myself by believing that I am doing things in my own strength, but instead continue to remind me that but by Your presence in my life I would be most helpless. Today I purpose to remove self from the equation and focus on what You are doing. Help me to stay vigilant, knowing that the enemy seeks to tear me down by introducing subtle temptations aimed at chipping away at my defenses. Today I lay hold of Your hand. Lead me and guide me that I might glorify You in all I say in do. In Jesus’ Name I pray. Amen.
