Light is sweet; how pleasant to see a new day dawning.

Ecclesiastes 11:7 (NLT)

Father God, thank You for this new day, a day filled with possibilities regarding life! The symbolic passing from one day to the next is not lost on me this morning. How the person transitions out of darkness into the morning light is a great metaphor of how You bring us out of a place of uncertainty and despair to a place of hope and promise, how You point and direct us towards a true newness that is different than what yesterday had. With a new day comes new challenges, for sure. But with it also comes new opportunities crafted by You to be a blessing to us and others. My soul resonates with the psalmist, declaring, “This is the day that the LORD has made; I will rejoice and be glad in it!” (Psalm 118:24)

Thank, LORD, for a brand new day. Thank You for seeing fit to allow me to rise up and be confronted with all of the opportunities that You have and will place before me throughout this day to serve You and others. Though there will be challenges, my soul finds peace in knowing You will be with me through them all.

Thank You for allowing me to get some semblance of rest last night and for reminding me this morning that my true rest does not come from lying my head down on a comfy pillow and the slumber of the evening. My true rest comes from being in You, casting my cares upon my You, and hiding in Your shadow! Thank You! Amen.
