But in fact God has placed the parts in the body, every one of them, just as he wanted them to be.
1 Corinthians 12:18 (NIV)
Father, what a freeing reality this morning: I am who You wanted me to be. More importantly I am able to do what I do only because it is what You have purposed me to be able to do. Only You know how many times I have looked back upon my life with regrets. I look at missed opportunities and missed areas to have developed and wish I had made a different decision or that I could have done it all over again.
Yet, this morning two central truths ring in my soul: You have placed me where I am in the body right where You want me to be and You have caused all things – whether good decisions or bad – in my life to work together for my good and the Kingdom! As Paul declares, I am Your workmanship in Christ Jesus to do good works (Ephesians 2:10)!
Lord, enable me today to walk and serve as You have established that I should. Grant me opportunities to use my full toolbox of gifts to bless others and serve You. Well up within me a spirit of humility and love, reminding me to put others first and seek to glorify You in all that I do. Give me godly contentment about where You have placed me, with whom You have placed me with, and with what You have placed me to accomplish, and fuel my passion to see it through by Your Spirit. Remind me of my calling in Christ Jesus to do good works for I am eager to do just that (Titus 2:14).
Father, I want to please You, put a smile on Your face. I want my life and love of others to glorify You. Show me how I can do that throughout this day. Use me to put a smile on their faces, relieve the sense of being overwhelmed in their lives, and encourage them on their journey, demonstrating Your love in a real and tangible way. In Jesus’ Name I pray. Amen.
