There is nothing better for a person than that he should eat and drink and find enjoyment in his toil. This also, I saw, is from the hand of God, for apart from him who can eat or who can have enjoyment? For to the one who pleases him God has given wisdom and knowledge and joy, but to the sinner he has given the business of gathering and collecting, only to give to one who pleases God. This also is vanity and a striving after wind.

Ecclesiastes 2:24-26

Lord, help me to find joy in the works of my hands, the pursuit of my desires, and the realization of my ambitions. I want to find pleasure in the journey as much as the realization. Only You can give this to me. Give me a discerning heart that I might see that which pleases You and set my heart on it, putting to the side that which is carnal and not Christ centered. It is my ultimate aim to please You by seeking YOU first, Your kingdom and Your righteousness. This is my sole purpose in life. In so doing, I shall have wisdom, knowledge and joy, the fruit of a life focused on serving You. And what thrills my heart this day is that through this, I have the hope that You will bless others now and after I have been called to be with You. For I am confident that You will use me to be a blessing beyond for this is the joyful legacy of those whose lives are committed to You. Let Your fingerprints on my life be transferred through me onto someone else’s life through the works of my hands that all might know that You are a good and mighty God. In Jesus’ Name I pray. Amen.
