Since my youth, God, you have taught me, and to this day I declare your marvelous deeds. Even when I am old and gray, do not forsake me, my God, till I declare your power to the next generation, your mighty acts to all who are to come.
Psalm 71:17-18 (NIV)
Father God, these verses are my testimony this morning: You have poured Your Spirit into my life from my youth. Even before I knew You, You were guiding and directing me, bringing me to the point where I realized that my way was going no where and that I needed a better way. I can see now, in retrospect, how all the events of my life led up to my divine encounter with You, even how that message I heard that morning compelled me to ask the question, “What must I do to be saved?” From that day You have taught me of Your goodness and mercy. You have instructed me in the way I should go. You have been to me my Guiding Light, all the while opening my eyes to the great and wonderful things You are doing in me and around me. Indeed, Your deeds are marvelous!
My prayer today is that You might keep and sustain me that I might share today with anyone who will listen how good You are. I pray that You would continue to show me Your hand at work so that I might tell someone about Your goodness in and around them, revealing to them how You have blessed them. Give me the words to say that they might pause and consider Who You are to them, and possibly, by chance, surrender their life to You.
Father, I want to be a witness to Your glory. I want my praise of You to be my legacy. Continue to send folks my way and remove any obstacles or barriers to me testifying of how good You are, whether natural or contrived from within me. Give me Holy Spirit inspired boldness, that I might be Your servant, declaring to the next generation Your mighty acts in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
