When the oppressor is no more, and destruction has ceased, and he who tramples underfoot has vanished from the land, then a throne will be established in steadfast love, and on it will sit in faithfulness in the tent of David one who judges and seeks justice and is swift to do righteousness.”

Isaiah 16:4b-5 (ESV)

Lord Jesus, this morning my mind is fixed on the power of Your promises. In a world where people let me down, where tomorrow is rarely predictable, one thing I know for certain: if You said it, that settles it.

Hard times follow those who serve You. Righteousness does not guarantee that things will go easy. On the contrary, You said just the opposite (John 16:33). The good news is that You have encouraged me to be encouraged. Why? Because if You have the victory I have the victory!

So, as I engage with all that comes my way this day, help me to keep my eyes on You, knowing that You will provide me what to say in the moment (Luke 12:12), that You will direct my steps (Psalm 37:23), and that You will supply my needs (Philippians 4:19). The enemy is defeated. You are on the throne. Even now Your rule is being manifested. I merely must walk in it by faith!

Please remove all of the obstacles and barriers that prevent me from worshipping You in the moments of my life. Let me see Your glory in all the details of the world around me. I surrender my heart to You afresh today. Be exalted, my Savior and King! Amen.
