Sovereign Lord, I thank You this morning for Your peace which passes all understanding. Thank You for the sure footing that You have given Your child through Your Word. Thank You for the eternal truths that it conveys. Thank You for using it to open my eyes to my brokenness and revealing to me Your awesomeness. Through it and by it my life has been changed, my eyes have been opened, my heart has been sealed, and my destiny has been fixed. Your Word has pointed me to the true Source of life – You!
As I gaze into the rising sun my soul has a transcending calm over it. Like the stillness of a peaceful lake my soul is not stirred this morning, the troubles and cares of the day are not front of mind. All I can think of is how good You are. Though I know this by my life, I understand this by Your Word for it explains to me what is too wonderful for me to comprehend; it provides very clear logic as to what I am experiencing. By it I can understand the fingerprints You have left on my life. And through it I know and fully embrace Your very precious promises. This, Lord, is Your Word!
I pray today that You would guide and direct me by Your Word this day. When I hold it near and follow Your precepts I do not and cannot stumble. When I walk in obedience to You as revealed in Your Word You bless my going out and coming in; You cause my cup to overflow, and my life to be a beacon of hope. All this by Your Word.
I hide it today in my heart that I might not sin against You. Enable me to hold fast to its precepts and not to stray from Your paths. Thank You for Your peace today. And most of all, thank You for my Savior, Jesus Christ, the Living Word, the true Source of peace and my strength not to stumble. He is the Word that I hold closest, Who points me towards You! Thank You, Lord, in Jesus’ Name!
