And a highway shall be there, and it shall be called the Way of Holiness…It shall belong to those who walk on the way; even if they are fools, they shall not go astray…the redeemed shall walk there.

Isaiah 35:8-9 (ESV)

Lord, Your Word reminds me that there is a way that seems right to me but ends in bad things (Proverbs 14:12, 16:25). And as a person who has tried that path, believing I had all the answers, trusting in my judgment and “instincts”, I can attest to the fact that it got me no where! That is why I praise You this morning because You saw me in my pitiful state, took me in, cleaned me up, and pointed out to me the right direction to go. You laid before me a very clear path that I should travel, and I have not looked back. Yes, there have are times when I stumble walking it. Other times I am really foolish thinking that I know a “better way” or worse, just try to leave the path. Yet Your Spirit always reins me in, not allowing me to leave that blessed highway, acting as divine guardrails. Yes, I might hit them and do a spin in the street, but I stay in the street and not along the side of the road!

So today, Lord, as I walk in that Way of Holiness, I fully embrace that I own it, it is my way as ordained by You. As one of Your redeemed children, I commit to walking there, focused and undeterred, pressing on towards the prize of the high calling that I have in Jesus. Master, don’t allow me to go astray, but instead keep me under the tight leash of Your love, that I might fellowship with You all along the way until I get the privilege of seeing You at the end of the road. In Jesus’ Name I pray. Amen.
