For through the Spirit, by faith, we ourselves eagerly wait for the hope of righteousness.
Galatians 5:5
Father God, my soul longs for righteousness, tiring today of struggling with sin. My heart aches to be perfected, pleasing in Your sight, no longer pulled down by thoughts, longings, and actions that reflect my sinful flesh. Instead, I want to look like Jesus, thinking Your thoughts after You and doing that which brings You glory, daily crucifying this flesh, that I might walk by the Spirit. To that end, I put off those thoughts, actions, and sins which so easily entangle me, and I put on Your righteousness. Today, I intentionally purpose to be like Jesus, allowing Him to live through me by the Holy Spirit. Cause Your fruit to be manifested in my life. Help me to be mindful of how I show up and enable me to walk by faith and not by sight. Lord, my soul eagerly awaits my Savior’s return. Until then, help me to walk as a child of light, bringing glory to Your Name and pointing others towards Christ Jesus. Amen.
