Our soul waits for the LORD; he is our help and our shield.

Psalms 33:20 (ESV)

Lord God, I have put my trust in a lot of things. This morning I look at them and ask myself how has that worked out me? They all have, at one time or another, failed me. Yet, You never have. You have always come through in the clutch. You have demonstrated time and time again that You have my back.

I confess that I have a severe case of spiritual amnesia. You take care of me, hooking me up, and quickly I forget how I got over. It’s not that I take the credit. No. I’m not that shallow. Instead, when another issue comes around I resort back to my old ways of getting through it, only to remember that I have a Friend Who sees me and has helped me in situations like this time and time again. What a knucklehead I am!

So today, I press the pause button. As the stuff of life is thrown my way I commit to just waiting You out. I know that You have a plan for all of this. I know that You have already figured it completely out, knowing the ending before the beginning. What is left in this equation is me just trusting You. So today, Lord, I wait on You for You shall renew my strength. Be God in my life in Jesus’ Name.
