But I call to God, and the LORD will save me…he hears my voice.

Psalm 55:16-17 (ESV)

Father God, this day my soul is comforted knowing that when I call to You, You hear me. Though the distance between here and Heaven appears to be great and impassable, and though I often times “feel” like I am just voicing words into the atmosphere, You catch every syllable that comes out of my mouth, every utterance that comes out of my throat, discerning not only what I am attempting to say, but even knowing the very thoughts I cannot put into words. You take my groans and make sense of them (Romans 8:26-27)! You hear not only what I am saying, but know what I am not saying and intend to say!

So, I come before You today, not knowing everything that I need to pray for or lay before Your throne. I only know I need to be in Your presence, I need to know that You hear me, and I need to know that You will take care of me. Thank You for confirming all of that today, for assuring me that You do hear every word I am saying, thinking, and not thinking, that You love me so much that You want to know what is going on inside of me. Thank You for always and forever having my back, being mighty to save, always there when I call out to You, and even when I don’t. Amen.
