…give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

1 Thessalonians 5:18

Lord, as You sent this verse my way this morning, and reminded me through Your servant that giving thanks is a discipline before it is a delight, my soul had to pause to just say thank You for all that You have done. I confess that often times my thanks only manifests itself when I am either overwhelmed by blessings or pressed by obstacles that come my way. The former reminding me that You are good because of, the latter reminding me that You are good in spite of. Yet, this morning my soul is convicted because I should not require circumstances to give You thanks. Thanks instead should the be the very fruit of my spirit, a flow that runs out of my heart all day everyday because of what You have done for me through Christ Jesus. Because I am now in Your family all of Your promises are yes and amen to me. In Him and through Him nothing that comes against me and my purposes in You can prosper. Because of His sacrifice all of my sins are forgiven, I am justified, and I am being sanctified. And because He did this, You are with me now and forever! Lord, I thank You today for You indeed have been good to me! Thank You for the friends and family You have surrounded me with. Thank You for the times of lack and plenty, provision and want, that have shaped my knowledge of You has Jehovah-Jireh. Thank for taking me around and bringing me through the hard times and difficult ways. Thank You for loving me when I did not have enough sense to love myself. This morning I give You thanks! Let the words of my mouth and meditations of my heart be acceptable to You, oh LORD, my strength and great Redeemer! Thank You for my Christ! Amen!
