Then Jesus said to the tree, “May no one ever eat your fruit again!” And the disciples heard him say it.

Mark 11:14 (NLT)

Today Lord Jesus, I pray that when You inspect my life that You might fruit pleasing to You. I pray that as You survey my productivity that You might see that I am making the most of what You have given me for kingdom building, not hoarding it for my own personal gain, but instead pouring my life out into the lives of others, pointing them to You, the Source of life, and through the Holy Spirit fueling their faith with hope.

I confess that I sometimes believe that now is not the “season” for being used by You. I quickly become content with being just “Joe Pew Member.” Yet today I can hear You say to me, “What have you done with the talents I have given you?” It is my soul’s desire to hear You say, “Well done, good and faithful servant (Matthew 25:21)!” Please help me to produce fruit in my life, passing Your random inspections, being who You created me to be. Help me to get over the fact that You may have given others more than me, whether it is resources, success, or even influence. For certain, that is immaterial. Help me to embrace the call to faithful over a little, knowing that in the end there is laid up for me a reward that I will view as much. I pray this in Your Name. Amen.
