I love the LORD because he hears my voice and my prayer for mercy. Because he bends down to listen, I will pray as long as I have breath!
Psalm 116:1-2 (NLT)
Father God, my soul cries out to You today because You are not only my help, but You care. Deeply. I find so much comfort in knowing that You listen for my voice; You hear me. When I call to You, You incline Your ear to me, hearing my calls to You, leaning over Heaven’s bannister, attentive to my needs. What blows my mind is that You don’t have to but You do! And not because of anything that I have done but because You love me and have promised to never leave nor forsake me! What have I done to deserve such love?
I so love You. And my prayer this morning is not one filled with a laundry list of wants and needs. It is not filled with cries for deliverance or even forgiveness, though You have and are supplying that. No. In this moment I just want to thank You for seeing me, hearing me, and caring for me. Thank You for not being so preoccupied with delivering the world that You put fellowship with me to the side. Thank You for tending to my every prayer and pouring out Your grace and mercy upon me. Thank You for satisfying all my longings, delivering me from all of my hardships, protecting me from all danger, and supply all my needs.
Your love is so real, so fulfilling, and so life-changing! Words cannot express my gratitude to You. Those two words seem so inadequate that I feel the need to just keep saying them. Thank You. Thank You. Thank You. Thank You for Your unfailing love. Thank You for Your amazing grace. Thank You for Your precious promises. Thank You for Your sure deliverance. Thank You for Your unfailing love. Thank You. Amen.
