Barak said to her, “If you will go with me, I will go, but if you will not go with me, I will not go.” And she said, “I will surely go with you. Nevertheless, the road on which you are going will not lead to your glory, for the LORD will sell Sisera into the hand of a woman.” Then Deborah arose and went with Barak to Kedesh.

Judges 4:8-9

Father, how many times have I settled for less than the best You have for me because I was unwilling or uneasy about just stepping out and doing what You say to do? Like Barak, I end up asking You to send me with something or someone that bolster my confidence that I can be successful rather than trusting You, believing by faith that You will do what You said You will do. And as a result, I end up not receiving the full blessing that I could have received had I just walked with You.

Well, today I pray for spiritual courage to just step out and trust You. As I move in the direction that You are calling me to move, continue to bring to my remembrance Your Word and Your very precious promises. Though I appreciate all the ways that You raise up encouragement in my midst, it is my desire to be willing to step out even if I don’t have that visible support system. Give me a mind like Esther that proclaims, “If I perish, let me perish.” Though I rightly have doubts regarding my ability to do it, I know that I can indeed do all things through You for You give me strength! Here I am. Send me in Jesus’ Name!
